JUSTIN ANCHETA EP

This two track EP features an original composition which was a collaboration between myself and the inimitable Justin Ancheta. The tune simmered for a long time, not quite sure where it belonged, starting as a simple loop at the piano, then developing its uneven 5/4 rhythm, chord variations, and melody, taking a brief trip into the world of electronic dance music along the way (thanks eO!). Eventually I showed it to Justin who wrote this beautiful song on top of the musical skeleton I had created, and a few years later we finally decided to record it, with Alex Garcia on clarinet, Aziz Yehia on drums, and Maren Metke on harmony vocals. BLVD is another one of Justin’s tunes which I had the pleasure to record on. Enjoy!
