We are so excited to join Honey of the Heart (Justin Ancheta & Maren Metke) for this intimate house concert!

Message from the hosts: Free album of Honey of the Heart from our merchandise table for all ticket holders that arrive on time (5:30 pm!). For anyone that wants to eat a meal here, we will be asking for a heads up on how many folks so we can have some food for you here. We will be asking for donations for the food served, or you can grab a ticket which includes food, and it also lets us know ahead of time how much food to provide.

DONA FRANCISCA OPENS FOR ALCEU VALENÇA

Aug 2nd, 2019

A true icon and one of the most influential artists in Brazilian music, Alceu Valença returns to North America after a 20-year hiatus and embarks on his first major tour across seven cities. With a career spanning over 40 years, 35 albums, over 5 million in sales, and four Latin GRAMMY nominations, Alceu Valença has established himself as the voice of Northeastern Brazil. His album “Vivo” was defined by Richard Perry of Arcade Fire, as a “psychodelic masterpiece”. You can expect a high-energy show full of forró, baião, xote, frevo and embolada, and all of his popular hits like “Morena Tropicana”, “Coração Bobo”, “Anunciação”, “Taxi Lunar”, “Belle de Jour”, and more.

Supported by local forró ensemble Dona Francisca, and Oakland based Grupo Cocada, a group of singers and percussionists playing Côco de Roda.

WIND WEAVERS WITH THE PATTY DUKES

Aug 17, 2019

Join Wind Weavers and The Patty Dukes for an afternoon/evening of intimate music, including sung poetry and innovative, tradition-inspired instrumental music in a warm welcoming backyard potluck house concert.

The Patty Dukes are cousins Juliet and Diana Strong singing sweet harmonies, old classics and family poems. In 2017 they recorded Four Quatrains, written by their great uncle Ed Strong in his waning years about aging, death, and enduring love, set to music. These two cousins have been making music separately and together throughout their lives, and each brings a unique voice and perspective to their collaborations.

WIND WEAVERS DEBUT!

Oct 20th, 2018

Thanks to everyone who came out for this special birthday concert, debuting my newest musical project. After considering all the band name options suggested by the audience, including Avocado Helmet, Patchwork Symphony, the 5 Winds, Blue Vervain, and many more, we have settled on Wind Weavers, which no one suggested (but was inspired by a few of the suggestions). Stay tuned for more to come!
